With over 20 years of professional experience, Tom Haughton brings his skills and talents to his position as vice president of My Place Realty (MPR). MPR is a Winnipeg-based property management company with a goal of helping individuals find quality, multi-family houses that they are proud to call home. MPR currently owns and manages 1,400 apartment units in and around the Winnipeg area.

Tom Haughton studied at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, where he graduated with honours in 1996 with a Bachelor of Commerce.

His professional work history has helped him develop skills in human resources, customer service, sales and marketing, business operations, coaching and development, procurement, data processing, business development and finance. Prior to leading MPR, Tom served as the CEO of Barbados-based Global Drug Supply. Throughout his six years with Global Drug Supply, Tom assisted in establishing and growing the international business corporation and developed a strong management team who was able to sustain the operation upon his departure to Canada.

My Place Realty has given Tom the opportunity to pursue a childhood interest. When he was young, his family would move every four years because of his father’s job and as a child, Tom found it exciting to search for new homes. Now, as Vice President of MPR, Tom is able to put his life long experience in home hunting to good use.

Tom Haughton is committed to constantly upgrading his skills and believes that learning is a lifelong pursuit. Since he completed his studies at the University of Manitoba, he has continued to enhance his skills by completing coaching sessions, self-development seminars and more. Through these personal courses, Tom has been able to expand on his professional aptitude.

Tom lives in Winnipeg with his wife and three children. He has been a dedicated supporting of a variety of charities including:

  • The Winnipeg Humane Society: a local group that works to protect animals from harm and help them find forever homes;
  • The Lighthouse Mission: a Christian organization that has worked at reaching out to those in need in Winnipeg’s inner city since 1911;
  • Agape Table: a non-profit group that helps those in need by serving a low-cost or free breakfast Monday to Friday;
  • The Canadian Cancer Society: a national organization that works to support research projects to eradicate cancer and help those living with cancer.
  • World Vision: a Christian organization that helps children in need overseas.
  • The Terry Fox Foundation: the foundation started by Terry Fox, which works to achieve a world without cancer.
Tom Haughton was also instrumental in a recent MPR fundraiser that helped raise money for Manitoba Mutts. The first-ever Tenant Appreciation Day attracted over 150 guests to MPR’s 1310 Archibald location where there was food, games and fun for all ages. They raised over $1,000 with the fundraiser.

He and his family are always on the lookout for new ways to help their community and support worthy causes.
